If you’ve wandered onto this page, you must be curious about me and whether I can help you with your new home design or renovation project. The truth is, I want to know if I can help you, too. My name is Kimberly Kerl and it’s great to meet you.
I’m fascinated with the built environment and while I allowed it to guide my career path, that’s not really why I do what I do.
At the core, I’m a helper, problem solver, and admirer of people’s stories. And nothing tells a better story than the spaces we transform into our homes. So, naturally, I wanted to be a part of using the built environment as the perfect setting for you to write your life story.
I pursued my passion at Clemson University College of Architecture, where I concentrated my studies on Historic Preservation and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Design. After working in an architecture firm for seven years, I decided to return to school and earn my Bachelor of Architecture from UNC Charlotte.
With all of the formal education and logged hours of experience necessary to sit for the Architectural Registration Exam, I did something unexpected.
I slowed down my career path to focus on my family. In doing so, I focused my attention and worked exclusively on the projects that mattered most to me: private residences. I have designed new homes, additions, and renovations for more than three decades now.
While I still consider my family my most important project, my children are grown and now chase their passions, which leaves me ample time to help you fulfill yours.
I will help you upsize, downsize, or right-size. I will ask you to explore your motivations and be honest about your budget. I will lead you through one of the most historically stressful tasks and make it fun. I want you to enjoy the journey as much as you enjoy the end result.
I slowed down my career path to focus on my family. In doing so, I focused my attention and worked exclusively on the projects that mattered most to me: private residences. I have designed new homes, additions, and renovations for more than three decades now. And I am not an HGTV star with a production crew you don’t pay for and a carpenter who stepped off the pages of GQ.
I am a problem solver, creative genius, working woman who has balanced a career and family while maintaining her own house, cooking her own meals, and writing her own story.
I ask more questions, so you have fewer. I listen to what you want, but design what you need. I translate the words and images you provide for me into a home that was written just for you.
